Adventfjorden is filling up with common eiders, black guillemots and large flocks of little auks who are patiently waiting for a snow free nesting at land. The arctic foxes are changing their white fur for their pied summer coat, and this morning I woke thanks to the sound of two displaying Svalbard rock ptarmigans, this really is heaven on earth! This week I’ve been Icecaving with friends at the Longyearbreen, the glacier at the end of the valley, it’s something else than the dark wet slate quarry’s in Belgium :). Now it’s waiting for the first king eiders, and this weekend I’ll probably go on a trip with friends to Svea!
