After the last Bulgaria trip, I spent one day at lake Kerkini in Greece, just to check it out and shoot some Dalmatian pelicans. The pelicans learned that fishermen trow fishes over board, so they are always stalking boats, hungry for fish… Ideal situation for photography!
At this time of the year they are at their most colourful with the males in full beak and throat colour. Unfortunately it was quite windy that day, so I had no opportunities to work with good reflections, and the snowy mountains in the background where hidden behind clouds. So that’s a decent reason to go back, right?
