This week I spent 3 days together with Jan and Thomas in the Biesczcady mountains. A remote area where large mammals are ever present. We had to go there because we’re working on an exciting project for europesbig5 in the area. If you want to know more about it, follow the newsfeed on the EB5 website the coming months! In our spare time we went looking for the diverse wildlife Biesczcady has to offer. Although we had only very limited time in the field, we where lucky to get some nice encounters…  The most exciting for me personally was a big wolf at the border with Ukraine! Besides this, we also saw European bison, bever, red and roe deer, red squirrel, wild boar, and numerous bird species. We also got close to a brown bear, but unfortunately we didn’t get to see it. Bison tracks are present everywhere in the forest, but besides these we also found tracks of bear, wolf and Eurasian lynx.
