First Snow in the alps

Last year I went on a short 5 day trip to the alps with my friend Karl Van Ginderdeuren. Even though it was brief, we did manage to get some nice landscapes, closeups of Ibexes and lots of beautiful autumn colors.

It didn’t come all that easy however. The first day we hiked well above the snow line and overnighted in our tent. This way we got the best morning light at a freshly frozen lake high up in the mountains. This resulted in the first image I was hoping for. Some kind of selfie in fact. I mounted my camera on the tripod with the wireless remote attached to it. I quickly ran around the lake, acted like I was hiking and took some selfies.

Best selfie I ever took! Can you find me in the frame?

With this image, the tone was set and we continued towards the Italian alps for some autumn landscapes and wildlife.

Enjoy!
